The New Choices Program at the Women's Center of Fayetteville is a Displaced Homemaker Program. It is designed to help displaced homemakers make the difficult transition from the home into the work force. A displaced homemaker could be your friend, your neighbor, your mother or your sister. She has set aside a career to spend some years at home, dependent on the financial support of another, usually a spouse or significant other. She may have worked part-time, maybe even full-time on occasion, but her focus has been on the home and the children. Now, she needs help. The financial support that she was depending on has been cut. Maybe she has divorced, separated, been widowed, or her husband has lost his job, but she needs to focus now on entering or re-entering the workforce. Check out our Breaking Up & Moving Seminar. Are you a displaced homemaker?
If you answered yes to all three of these questions, you may be a displaced homemaker. The New Choices Program is here to help. Through individual career/educational counseling and job preparation assistance, the New Choices Program helps displaced homemakers enter the workforce so that they can support themselves and their families. Our program offers:
Our Resource Partners are also available to assist clients:
